The plant produces clusters of yellow flowers that bloom in late spring or early summer. The root of astragalus is the most commonly used part of the plant in herbal medicine. It is long, cylindrical, and fibrous, with a yellowish-white color and a sweet, slightly woody taste.

Preparations:
